On March 18th, Fort Dorchester High School will administer the ACT college entrance exam to 11th grade students. All current Juniors are strongly encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity and to do their very best in fully preparing for the exam. The ACT is being provided, at no cost, as a component of Dorchester School District Two's college and career readiness initiative.
Your student's performance on the ACT exam can open many doors for success in college, the military, and the workforce. In an effort to identify potential academic and scholarship programs, and promote increased post-graduate opportunities for your student, ACT test results will also be shared with regional institutions of higher learning.
To help your student prepare for ACT testing on March 18th, Fort Dorchester administered a practice ACT to all 11th grade students in January. Practice test results are now accessible through our TCA test preparation portal. Please encourage your student to access their results electronically. The TCA platform highlights students’ strengths and provides an excellent opportunity to review areas of need. A link to our school’s TCA portal is located on the Fort Dorchester website. Student’s login using their school ID as username and password. Please click on the tab at the left "TCA Test Prep - ACT" to access.
We believe that 8 to 10 hours of review in the TCA portal will greatly enhance your student's performance on the ACT in March. Time has been allotted for students to access the portal during school hours; however, we encourage all parents to take a proactive role in persuading students to utilize the program at home as well. Thank you for working with us as we attempt to create a brighter future for our students and community.
